Tyler Simpson

Tyler Simpson serves on the Advisory Board and Investment Committee of Freedom Capital Partners, where he provides strategic input on investment selection, capital allocation, and risk management. In this role, Tyler contributes his expertise in private credit and structured finance to help evaluate new opportunities and support the firm’s investment strategy.
Tyler brings over eight years of experience in private credit, having originated more than $700 million in loans across residential, multifamily, and small-balance non-residential assets.
He has held leadership roles at Pegasus Capital Markets and PPM, where he was actively involved in sourcing, structuring, and executing credit investments.
Earlier in his career, Tyler worked at Nomura, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, PennyMac, and Oaktree Capital, where he focused on credit derivatives, structured products, and distressed loan asset management in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. This background provides him with a deep understanding of credit markets across cycles and asset classes.
Tyler holds a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University. He is a Licensed Salesperson in California (DRE #02230737) and previously held FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
